About the school:
St. Colman’s College, Claremorris is a Catholic secondary school for boys, founded in 1945 by Fr. John Colleran at the request of the local community. Located on its own campus just a mile outside Claremorris, the school has grown and evolved over the years to meet the changing needs of its students and community - striving always to be a school of its time, for all its students, and for the wider community.

As an all-ability school, St. Colman’s is committed to providing every student with the opportunity to succeed. Teaching is tailored to accommodate a wide range of ages and abilities, with a focus on nurturing the whole person—spiritually, academically, practically, physically, socially, and culturally. A broad curriculum and a strong emphasis on extracurricular activities ensure a well-rounded education.

Excellence in teaching and learning is a central focus. The school maintains high expectations and consistently achieves strong outcomes. With a belief that the future belongs to those who prepare for it, St. Colman’s works to inspire students to develop their vision, confidence, and capabilities to take ownership of their future.

A great school, like a good home, should offer the chance to live fully: to work, play, pray, learn, grow, and discover one’s self-worth. St. Colman’s strives to be this kind of environment—welcoming, supportive, and inclusive, where every student belongs, is valued, and is given the chance to succeed.

The college’s mission is to recognise the unique value of every student and to support, encourage, and challenge each one to realise their potential and experience success.
